Government jobs are well-known for their stability but less renowned for their pay scales. Fortunately, many companies recognize the importance of public service and offer government employee discounts. Federal employees can capitalize on savings from everything from travel to technology.

Hotel and Travel Discounts for Federal Employees

Travel discounts are one of the most popular types of deals for Federal employees. Many prominent hotel chains offer savings, including participating Hyatt and Marriott hotels. Some even offer discounts to higher-end hotels. Some airlines, such as American and United, offer special government fares on travel for official business. When booking your travel or stay online, be sure to look for a place to select your government status. You should also be sure to bring your government ID with you when traveling, as hotels or airlines may require it at check-in. For even lower rates, explore the Federal Discount Lodging Directory.

This site offers some of the best deals available and allows government workers to conduct searches for both foreign and domestic hotels. You can search by location to find special rates in your destination. The directory is also helpful for booking car rentals at major chains such as National, Hertz, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, and Alamo.

Explore lodging and travel deals can be found at similar websites, including  GovArm.com, SatoVacations, and Government Vacation Rewards.
