Guaranteed Issue Group Term Life Insurance

New Civilian Federal Employees can count on WAEPA’s Guaranteed Issue Group Term Life Insurance to protect them following their transition to the federal government. Newly hired federal employees can apply for up to $100,000 in coverage on a Guaranteed Issue basis within 365 days of their hire date — no open season required.

Guaranteed Issue for Federal Employees with WAEPA

When you apply for Guaranteed Issue Group Term Life Insurance coverage through WAEPA, you cannot be declined and no medical exams are required. To be eligible, Civilian Federal Employees must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be less than 70 years of age
  • Apply within one year of a first-time, non-military, government hire

Those who meet our membership conditions qualify for $25,000 to $100,000 in life insurance coverage. You aren’t eligible for coverage if you moved from one federal government position to another or if you’re an active member of the United States military.

For Those Who Serve

WAEPA’s Guaranteed Issue Group Term Life Insurance is designed specifically to support the needs of Civilian Federal Employees and their families. Once you’re approved, coverage is fully portable should you decide to leave federal service or retire.

No Medical Exam Required

Medical exams aren’t required when applying for Guaranteed Issue coverage, and you don’t need to submit a physician’s report. You’ll be approved for coverage within a short time after applying. Life insurance benefits can help provide peace of mind for you and your family.

Supplemental Benefits

Receive supplemental benefits for accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) to 20% of your coverage amount. Death resulting from a travel accident on a “common carrier” (airline, bus, train, or ship) equals 40% of your coverage amount.

How Much Coverage Do You Need?

WAEPA’s coverage serves as an economic alternative or supplement to FEGLI. You may apply to increase your coverage amount on a medically underwritten basis.
