WAEPA Awards Over $200,000 in Scholarships to 88 Students
WAEPA’s Scholarship Program, which began in 2007, has provided more than $2.5 million in tuition assistance to children of its members.
Falls Church, VA., June 2023: WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employees Public Agencies, Inc.) is pleased to announce its 2023 WAEPA Scholarship Program award recipients. This group of 88 winners will receive a total of $210,000 in tuition assistance from WAEPA. Among the winners, 80 students are embarking on their academic journey at four-year colleges or universities, while eight students have chosen two-year colleges or vocational-technical programs to pursue their passions.
The WAEPA Scholarship Program demonstrates WAEPA’s commitment to its members and their families. All recipients are dependents of WAEPA members, and have displayed dedication to their studies, maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0 while attending school full-time.
“WAEPA congratulates all of the 2023 scholarship recipients, and we commend their academic achievements,” said WAEPA CEO, M. Shane Canfield. “The Scholarship Program was created nearly 20 years ago, and since then, it has become one of the ways we strive to serve our members and their families.”
Since its inception in 2007, the WAEPA Scholarship Program has awarded more than $2.5 million to nearly 1,200 students. Past scholarship winners have hailed from 45 states and have represented more than 180 institutions.
