This year marks WAEPA’s tenth Annual Member Meeting; this free webinar is open to all current and former Civilian Federal Employees.
All Civilian Federal Employees are invited to join WAEPA on Wednesday, October 14 at 11 a.m. ET for a virtual webinar. This year’s program, The Future of the Federal Workforce, will explore how agencies and partner institutions are addressing today’s recruiting and retention challenges while preparing for what comes next.
Federal Drive host Terry Gerton will moderate a comprehensive discussion on strategies and programs for recruiting the next generation of public servants, featuring panelists:
- Kevin Hennecken, Tech Force Lead and Senior Advisor to the Director, U.S. Office of Personnel Management
- John Serpa, Chief Human Capital Officer, U.S. Small Business Administration
- Margot Conrad, Paul A. Volcker Public Service Fellow, The Volcker Alliance
- Dr. Shannon Portillo, Director and Lattie and Elva Coor Presidential Chair, School of Public Affairs, Arizona State University
The last two years have been disruptive for the Federal workforce.
The Federal workforce has experienced significant staffing changes over the past two years, including the loss of many early-career employees. Changes surrounding performance management, promotions and other workforce policies may also create new challenges for recruiting the next generation of Federal employees.
