Steven Brand

Steven Brand is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee and member of the Governance Committee. He joined the Board in 2026. 

Steven Brand is the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Interior Business Center (IBC), at the Department of the Interior. In this role, he is responsible for leading the delivery of shared services to support Interior offices and bureaus, as well as over 150 other Federal agencies. Steven joined IBC from the Department of Energy Office of the Chief Information Officer, where he served as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Resource Management. He is a member of the Senior Executive Service, with more than 30 years of service as a Civilian Federal Employee and active-duty Marine.  

Steven holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, as well as a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
