WAEPA Proudly Announces 2025 Scholarship Award Winners; Organization has Awarded more $3 million since 2007

WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies, Inc.) is excited to highlight the 2024-2025 Scholarship Program award recipients.

In total, 89 students were awarded tuition assistance this year – 79 who will attend two- and four-year colleges and universities, and 10 who will advance their skills through vocational/technical programs.

These 89 recipients represent 72 higher education institutions across 35 states. As dependent children of WAEPA’s membership of current and former Civilian Federal Employees, they also embody the dedication and excellence of the Federal workforce.

“WAEPA’s Scholarship Program is one of the most meaningful ways we support our members and their families. Each year, we are proud to invest in the next generation of leaders—students whose potential reflects the same values of service and excellence that define the Civilian Federal community.”

-M. Shane Canfield, CEO of WAEPA

WAEPA offers exclusive Group Term Life Insurance and Group Short-Term Disability Insurance to current and former Federal employees, as well as other key financial wellness resources, including this longstanding scholarship program for children of members.

About the WAEPA Scholarship Program

Started in 2007, the WAEPA Scholarship Program was created as another way for the organization to give back to members; specifically dependent children of members. Every year, WAEPA proudly provides tuition assistance for up to 90 students – nearly 1,300 total since the program’s inception.

WAEPA awards scholarships to both students attending two- and four-year colleges as well as those advancing their careers through vocational/technical schools. Applicants must be children of WAEPA members, who are under age 23 with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
