Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA) has opened applications for their 2020 Scholarship Program. Awards are open to children of WAEPA life insurance policyholders who are under the age of 23.

WAEPA offers up to 75 scholarships, 70 of which equal $2,500, granted to students attending four-year colleges or universities. Up to 5 scholarships worth $1,250 will also be granted to students attending two-year colleges or vocational-technical schools.

The WAEPA Scholarship Program has been in existence since 2007. Since then, the organization has awarded over $1.6 million dollars in scholarships.

“Each year, our team is elated to get letters from students who have been touched by these scholarships,” said Tony Zerante, Director of Strategic Operations at WAEPA. “Being able to make a difference for both our Members, who get peace of mind from our coverage, and their children, whose educations are helped with the award, is an honor for our organization.”

“The Scholarship Program is part of our dedication to the health, welfare, and financial well-being of our members,” said M. Shane Canfield, CEO of WAEPA. “This program is proof that we are working toward that objective.”
