WAEPA Hires New Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Falls Church, VA., October 11, 2023: WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies, Inc.) is pleased to announce that David West has joined the organization as Chief Information Officer.  

Mr. West has over 15 years of success in the strategic development, execution, and management of IT infrastructures and transformations. Most recently Mr. West was the Director of Information Technology at Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, a retail direct-to-consumer mortgage lender with $3.8 Billion in assets, where he led the management, strategy, and execution of IT infrastructure for the company. 

Previously Mr. West worked in various technical capacities in K-12 education, including the role of Network Administrator for the Chesapeake Public Schools, supporting over 5,000 teachers, administrators, and staff. It was during this time that he began to leverage emerging technologies and cutting-edge tools that solve problems and create new opportunities for products, markets, customer impact, and revenue generation.

Mr. West has a master’s degree in information technology and numerous certifications, including: ITMLP, ScrumMaster, Microsoft MCITP, CISSP, and CompTIA (A+, N+), and more. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the IT Management and Leadership Institute (ITMLI) and is a member of the Capital Area Society for Information Management (SIM).
