M. Shane Canfield, CEO of Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA) was featured on the October 19 episode of FEDtalk, covering Open Season for Federal Employees.

FEDtalk is a live radio talk show produced by Shaw Bransford & Roth P.C., a federal employment law firm. Canfield joined the episode alongside Joan Melanson of Long Term Care Partners, and host Tony Vergnetti to discuss the options Federal Employees have during Open Season, which runs from November 12 through December 10.

“This year, we returned 20% of our member’s annual premiums, which is very exciting for us,” Canfield said on the show. “I don’t know of any other organization that does this, and I’ve been in the group insurance business my whole career.”

Although Feds can enroll in WAEPA’s Group Term Life Insurance* program at any point in the year, the nonprofit organization is urging them to review all of their benefits packages to find the best plans. As such, they’ve prepared a Preparation Tips for FEHB Open Season 2019 article as a resource for Feds to use.
