15 Percent Premium Refund Announced for WAEPA Members for 2020

Falls Church, VA., August 21, 2020: Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA) is pleased to announce that a 15% premium refund has been approved by their Board of Directors.

WAEPA Members will receive a 15% refund of their annualized premium as of December 31, 2019. WAEPA is one of the few insurance programs that provides refunds to members. The premium refund reflects positive claims experience in 2019. The nonprofit association is proud to give back to its members, comprised exclusively of Civilian Federal Employees and their families.

“It has been a challenging time for all of us dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic and the impacts it has had on our communities. The pandemic has been a source of unexpected stress and adversity for many,” said M. Shane Canfield, CEO of WAEPA. “At WAEPA, we have a long history of helping our members through tough times, and now is no different.”

WAEPA’s premium refunds are not guaranteed, and are based primarily on their annual claims and expense ratios. Despite constant fluctuations, WAEPA has awarded a refund 24 of the past 25 years.
