10 Percent Premium Refund Announced for WAEPA Members

Falls Church, VA., August 30, 2019: Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies (WAEPA) is pleased to announce that a 10% premium refund has been approved by their Board of Directors.

 

WAEPA Members will receive a 10% refund of their annualized premium as of December 31, 2018. WAEPA is one of the few insurance companies that provides these types of refunds to members. The organization also issued a premium waiver in January 2019 during the Government Shutdown, issuing an account credit equal to one month’s premium for all members. Even members unaffected by the shutdown were credited.

 

After the premium waiver and the premium refund, in total, WAEPA Members are getting back over 18% of their annualized premiums in 2019.

 

WAEPA’s premium refunds are not guaranteed, and are based primarily on their annual claims ratio. Despite constant fluctuations, WAEPA has awarded a refund 23 of the past 24 years.

 

“We are proud to have given our members back twice this year,” said Shane Canfield, CEO of WAEPA. “For more than 75 years, our legacy has been centered around service to Feds, and our unique premium refund program is proof that we are working towards that objective.”
