WAEPA Announces 25% Premium Refund
WAEPA Members to Receive $6.2 Million in September 2009


WAEPA's Board of Directors has just declared a 25% return of premium to eligible members for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. This is the thirteenth return of premium since 1996, during which time WAEPA members have received over $51,000,000 in returned premiums.

Who is eligible for a refund?

WAEPA members with an effective date of life insurance coverage prior to April 1, 2009, and whose coverage remains in-force through September 1, 2009.

How much money will eligible WAEPA members receive?

Your refund will be based on the amount of your insurance coverage at the end of the 2008-2009 fiscal year. Specifically, you will receive 25% of your annualized premium as of March 31, 2009.

When will the refund checks be distributed?

Refund checks will be mailed to all eligible WAEPA members during the last week of September.

WAEPA to Present President's Award at AAFEA Conference

Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies, WAEPA, is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the presentation of the President's Award at the fourth annual conference of the African American Federal Executive Association, AAFEA.

The conference is being held on April 8, 2008 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. The theme of this year's conference is "Leadership Ready" and will feature workshops and presentations on subjects such as developing executive core competencies, interviewing techniques, mentoring, mobility in the SES, and the legislative process.

WAEPA Scholarship Program

The WAEPA Scholarship Program Exceeds All Expectations!
The response to the WAEPA Scholarship Program has been phenomenal. Scholarship America, the program administrator, reported that the response to the WAEPA Program was one of the highest they had seen for a scholarship program.

WAEPA established the scholarship program to assist policy holders’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
