Additional Benefits
In addition to providing you and your family with better insurance, better prices and
better value, WAEPA provides the following additional benefits at no extra cost.
- No Cost AD&D and Travel Accident Benefits
WAEPA provides an additional benefit for accidental death and dismemberment, plus travel accident benefit of up to 40% of your coverage. Click here for a

- Terminal Illness Benefit
WAEPA's Terminal Illness Benefit allows you to elect an advance payment of
a portion of your life insurance coverage during an illness that has been
diagnosed as a terminal illness. You are eligible for this benefit if satisfactory
proof is provided by an attending physician that you have a life expectancy
of 12 months or less.
You may choose to receive from 25% up to 50% of the death benefit at the
time of a claim. The choice may be made only once in a lifetime, and the
benefit will be paid in a lump sum to the insured. There are no restrictions
on how the money is to be used.
- Guaranteed Conversion Provision
When your insurance terminates, or you cease to be eligible, you can convert your group coverage to an individual Connecticut General Life Insurance Company policy without evidence of insurability, and by paying the premium for individual insurance.
You have 30 days after termination of coverage to convert your group life insurance to an individual policy.
- Beneficiary Payment Options
In the event of your death, your beneficiary will receive benefits in a single lump sum. Beneficiaries can be changed by written request to WAEPA. In the event of accidental death, designated beneficiaries receive the total of term life insurance benefits plus Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefits.
